Introducing And Defining A Highly Advanced New Field

What To Do With Emotions

There are about six ways of relating to your emotions:

1. Suppressing or repressing them (pushing them down or in)

2. Acting them out (dramatization)

3. Catharting them (dumping, emotianal vomitting)

4. Sublimating them (shunting them - as is - into creativity)

5. Releasing them (letting go, "forgiving," etc.)

6. Putting your attention on your bodily sensations of them

Only # 6 - putting your attention on the bodily sensations of your emotions - allows you to get the fine nuanced emotional experience that is needed to bring about the emotional transcendence into ecstasy that gives you experiential creative breakthroughs. Each of the other stances leads you away from one or another of the necessary conditions for emotional transcendence and deep experiential repatterning (as explained in the section on Repatterning.)

Emotional Felt-Experiencing

Felt-experiencing of emotions - sensitively putting your attention on the bodily sensations of your emotions - means that instead of suppressing, acting out, dumping, sublimating or letting go of your emotions, you feel them in a rich, full, deep but subtle, nuanced way. This is what is described in the section on Focusing.

Every emotion has a much richer, fuller, deeper character than what is immediately apparent. This rich, deep texture is present in your body as a subtle feeling sense that you can only experience when you fully feel the emotion by focusing into its place and feeling-tone in your body.

In order to do this effectively you must stop diverting your emotions through the other five tactics mentioned above. Fortunately you can do this just by shifting your attention from one focus to another, i.e. from the diverting tactics to direct bodily sensing. This is very easy to do once you know what to look for.

New Possibilities Open Up

When you do this kind of subtle focusing into your bodily feeling sense, an entirely new range of feeling qualities emerges as the underlying energy or vibration of the original emotion.

In the deeper psychological transformation practices this takes place through specific guided steps of exploration into your emotions, their nuances, and your bodily feeling sense of their underlying qualities, and nuances of those qualities.

In this, you not only focus into the bodily sensations of your emotions, but you also do this in a way that follows the principles of repatterning described in the section on Repatterning.

The Power Of It

Using both subtle, nuanced focusing into your bodily sensations and dynamic creative repatterning together spontaneously results in creative breakthroughs in your experiencing that have the same great scope and depth that is typical of all other repatterning methods.

It is the creative flow of these two factors with each other that produces the breakthrough results. Both focusing and repatterning have great power for change on their own. When you put them together the effects are almost miraculous - meaning that changes happen easily that were formerly thought to be difficult or impossible.

This is why I say that the fuller, deeper experiential transformation practices have the power to end all personal and relational suffering forever. It is also why we are able to say that the process is easy and unfailing.

The principles behind this are solid and sure. Focusing into your bodily sensations is simple and direct. And, the way of repatterning is as easy and pleasant as it is effective.
